Moist, delicious and the kids think it's cake. 😁
This pairs well with a lasagna recipe 😉
Now it's not too sweet so don't go frowning if you don’t have a sweet tooth, have faith, it will be a perfect side to almost any pasta or stew dish.
If you are ready for a cornbread recipe better than Jiffy could ever be, roll up your sleeves and let's get down in the kitchen.
This is actually a simple recipe. 👍🏽
First things first, get all your ingredients together; 👩🏽🍳
All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
Cornmeal - 1 cup
Baking Powder - 1 Tablespoon
White, Granulated Sugar - 1/3 cup
Salt - a couple pinches
Plant-Based Milk - 1 cup
Cooking Oil - 1/3 cup (I use grapeseed oil)
Hot Water - 1/3 cup

Combine all your dry ingredients together;
Flour
Cornmeal
Baking Powder
Sugar
Salt

Once combined, make a little hole in the mixture , well a nice size hole. 🕳

This is where you will add and mix the milk and oil in.

Once the milk and oil is combined now mix everything in the bowl together, mix well.

Heat some water up to near boiling, then add 1/3 of water to the cornbread mixture and mix well.
*this is my secret weapon when baking moist cakes
See how it loosen up the batter some, this will make the cornbread MOIST 🤤

Add mixture to greased pan and bake for 20 - 25 mins at 400 degrees fahrenheit. ⏲

Look at those beautful cracks 😍
*I add tumeric with my dry ingredients beacause I love tumeric and the health benefits are wonderful; in case you were wondering why it looks a little more "orange" in color.
